The Infamous Pyrex Book
So.....I've been waiting patiently for weeks for the arrival of this book (pictured above) I searched my city high and low and every bookstore I hit either didn't carry it or was sold out. So I headed to my nearest McNally Robinson where I knew they would special order it for me and call me when it arrived!
It arrived yesterday! Yay, so I rushed over and handed over $33, I quickly flipped the pages to take a peek (I don't like reading them too much before taking them home as it kind of ruins the surprise)
I quickly made supper and once finished I settled on the couch and read my book, wow what a huge let down, the pictures were terrible and poorly lit, the majority of the book was about flameware and clear ovenware, the price guide was out of touch and there wasn't anything in the book that I didn't already know!
So just a quick note to everyone, really read through it before you hand over your hard earned money, $33 buys alot of Pyrex!!! LOL

I agree with you! Although it is fun to look at the pictures, they totally need to release an updated version to this book regarding pricing. There is nothing in this book that you can't find out on the internet.

I agree! I wouldn't mind so much but the price of the book is so high.
DeleteI'm so glad I came across your blog via flickr. I have been really debating about whether or not to get this book. Thanks for the heads up!

Yay! I am glad I can save someone some money! It's worth taking a peek at in the bookstore but in my opinion not worth buying as you can find all the info you need on pyrexlove.com and corellecorner.com!
DeleteI wish I would have seen this post earlier, I too bought this book and was excited to read it when it arrived. I was really let down too and glad to know I am not the only one who thought it wasn't worth the money spent.

That's what I have heard.. very disappointing. I'll buy it if I ever see it used, but now won't go out of my way.
ReplyDeleteResell it & go buy a nice piece of Pyrex at an antique store, LOL.
